What is Celecoxib used for?
Celecoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) specific COX-2 inhibitor used to treat mild to moderate pain caused by arthritis mainly osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Celecoxib relieves overall arthritic joint complications like inflammation, swelling and pain. Since Celecoxib is COX-2 specific inhibitor it causes the GIT side effects much lower than other classes of NSAID such as Advil. Celecoxib has a superior safety and tolerability profile to other NSAIDs.
