Nanotechnology is one of the areas that Pharmin has invested its resources to develop novel nono-products with the enhanced bioavailability. While Drugs can freely enter systemic circulations they can affect various unspecified biological sites enhancing comprehensive side effects. With design of specific nano-particles (carriers), Pharmin nano future drugs exactly target specific receptor sites with lower doses, potentate the desire effects and subsequently subside the related side effects. Our recent nano- liposome models have enabled us to design topical applications effective on healing burns or wounds. The synergistic anti-inflammatory of liposome along with active ingredients establishing unique products that can regenerate collagen, epithelization and minimize scar areas with optimized bioavailability. Pharmin is currently in process of introducing  new nano-topical products into market under brand names Nanocen and Rocen.
NANOCEN 2% CREAM and ROCEN 2% GEL are novel nanoliposomal topical formulations of avocado/soybean unsaponifiables (Nanolipo-ASU 2%) with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and collagen regenerating applications. Nanocen is indicated in musculoskeletal pain management for joint condition like arthritis and Rocen remodels injured skins due to cutaneous wounds or burns. Both Nanocen gel and Rocen cream contain similar Nanolipo-ASU 2% . However, Nanocen 2% gel as a topical analgesic is absorb faster with shorter onset of action as needed during pain phase. Rocen 2% cream takes more time to be absorbed optimizing bioavailability for efficient collagen regeneration, epithelization and scar minimization.
Both Nanocen and Rocen hold advanced nanotechnology structure manufactured within the United States FDA registered facilities. Nanocen and Rocen contain avocado/soybean unsaponifiables, biologically active class of anti-catabolic and anabolic phytosterols. Nanoliposomes as carrying vesicles and surfactants enhancing the efficacy, drug tissue accumulation, joint and skin penetrations in higher levels than traditional topical dosage forms.
Oral form of Avocado Soy Unsaponifiables under trade name Arthrocen is available worldwide for several years. Pharmin USA avocado/soybean unsaponifiables formulation is classified as a human prescription drug in some countries while in other countries like the United States is categorized as a joint supplement according to the United States Food and Drug Administration, FDA.
